TAGBILARAN CITY— A Taiwanese tourist couple was robbed while dining at a beachfront restaurant in Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol on Sunday night, February 22.

According to initial reports, a man wearing a hoodie approached and sat near the couple, pretending to relax alongside other tourists. After the other beachgoers left, the suspect was seen looking around and waiting for an opportunity. He then took the couple’s bag, which had been placed under their chair, and quickly fled the scene.

The stolen bag contained credit cards, debit cards, two passports, an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and cash in Philippine pesos and US dollars.

The cellphone was later recovered after it was found discarded in a grassy area. Authorities believe the suspect may have thrown it away to avoid being tracked.

The restaurant owner assisted the Taiwanese couple following the incident.

The Panglao Municipal Police Station has launched an investigation to identify and arrest the suspect.
