VALENCIA, Bohol — Seven households in Barangay Marawis here were affected by flooding following heavy overnight rainfall.
At around 8:50 a.m. on Friday, Valencia Mayor Neil Balite visited the affected residents to assess their situation. The mayor also turned over food packs to Barangay Captain Nido Tagaan for distribution to the seven affected families.
Balite likewise inspected the drainage canal in the area, which was identified as a contributing factor to the flooding.
Initial observations showed that a small culvert restricted the flow of water, causing it to overflow and inundate nearby homes.
The local government continues to monitor the situation and assess measures to help prevent similar flooding incidents in the future.
