Dead young man found in Balilihan, Bohol finally identified

The PNP-Balilihan says the victim was Regino Laudiana, Jr.

The body of an unidentified man was found along the road in Balilihan town  Friday, June 7.

He was finally identified as Regino Laudiana, Jr., 24, a resident of Calceta Street, Barangay Cogon,  Tagbilaran City.

Residents found the body of Laudiana  along the Balilihan-Sikatuna road in Barangay Del Carmen Sur, Balilihan town, whose hands were tied with a plastic cable wire. Half of his left ear was mutilated.

The victim had a dragon tattoo on his left arm and Gothic writings on the right arm.

Laudiana sustained gunshot wounds on the head and three empty shells were found near him.

Police believed he was killed in the area.

Police Captain John Lynbert Yango, chief of Balilihan Police, told GMA’s QRT on Friday that they were able to identify the name of the victim through identification from tattoo marks in his back.

“His name was inscribed on his back,” Yango told GMA News.

 “Based on comparison sa pictures at sa records ng ibang (police) stations may record sa kanila yun ang tinugma namin. Yung tattoo identified sa ibang stations  na itong biktima ay certain Regino Laudiana, Jr.,” added Yango.

Regino Laudiana, Jr., when he was arrested during a buy-bust operation in December 2014 in Tagbilaran City.

“Based on comparison sa pictures at sa records ng ibang (police) stations may record sa kanila yun ang tinugma namin. Yung tattoo identified sa ibang stations  na itong biktima ay certain Regino Laudiana, Jr.,” added Yango.

Yango also said that based on the records at the Tagbilaran Police Station, Laudiana was at large for a carnapping case last May 26, 2019. He had also a robbery case in Trinidad town in 2013.

In 2014, he was also arrested for illegal firearms and illegal drugs by the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB)-Bohol.

Some residents who were at the crime scene suspected that Laudiana may have been a victim of summary execution.
