A fisherfolk from Asturias town in Cebu found a dead bottlenose dolphin on Saturday afternoon.
Asturias Police said that Danny Balenta found the dead dolphin floating near Barangay Poblacion when he went fishing that day.
He dragged the dolphin to the seashore and immediately informed the authorities.
The dolphin, which is rarely found in the area, had wounds near the eyes.
The dead dolphin was turned over to Asturias Bantay Dagat for examination and proper disposition.
