PANGLAO- The robbery suspect who snatched the bag of a Taiwanese couple at Alona Beach in Panglao last Sunday was reportedly seen casually drinking a bottle of Red Horse beer at a nearby store shortly after the incident.

The theft happened on the evening of February 22, 2026, while the couple was dining along the beachfront of Alona Beach in Panglao.

An unidentified man allegedly took their bag and fled. Later that night, the couple’s cellphone was recovered after it was found discarded in a grassy area.

Witnesses said the suspect proceeded to a nearby store after the incident, ordered a bottle of Red Horse, and appeared relaxed.

The Taiwanese couple has since returned home after their passports were also recovered, having been abandoned by the suspect.

Police authorities, other government agencies, and volunteers continue to search for the remaining stolen belongings and to track down the suspect.

On Thursday, Erico Aristotle Aumentado increased the reward to P150,000 for any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
