The candidate from Garcia Hernandez for Miss Bohol 2024 has won the best in costume in “Boholana 3,” the iconic design competition, on Sunday, July 7 held in Jagna town.

Miss Garcia Hernandez Carl Joellie Tentativa honored her municipality with the ‘Bahandi sa Sinugboan’ costume which highlighted the town’s abundant beauty and sustainability of its limestone and the Manaba River.

The ‘Bahandi sa Sinugboan’ was designed by Charlow Arbasto. Their entry also won the Best Film award, credited to Maxigne Lou Delusa.

There were 16 stunning delegates vying for the Miss Bohol 2024 title. They showcased ensembles that best represented their town’s history, culture, and heritage.

Loboc’s ‘Talentong Lobocanon’ received the Best in Photography award, captured through the lens of Sheila Medrana. Both Delusa and Medrana each received a cash prize of P20,000.

Tagbilaran’s ‘Los Mejores Tagbilaran’ costume, worn by candidate Flaviona Joaquin, placed first runner-up.

Jagna’s delegate Elah Merari Lagrido took second runner-up with her Calamay-inspired ensemble, ‘Hagna: Bag-ong Hugna.’

The top three winners of the design contest received cash prizes of P 50,000, P 40,000, and P 30,000 for the grand winner, first runner-up, and second runner-up, respectively.

The score obtained from the Boholana competition accounts for ten percent of the delegate’s total score for the pageant’s coronation night, happening on July 12, 2024, at the Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium, Tagbilaran City.

Print and runway model Shindell Atibula, make-up artist King Amante, and designer Danny Booc served on the judging panel for this year’s edition.

Second District Rep. Maria Vanessa Aumentado, the honorary chair of the Miss Bohol pageant, welcomed guests and congratulated the provincial government and all the committees involved on the event’s successful third run.

Aumentado was also a beauty queen who won the Miss Bohol 2001 crown.

She also expressed gratitude to all the creatives and significant individuals who participated in the competition.

She also recognized the local government units’ efforts for their unwavering support.

Acting governor Dionisio Victor Balite, along with provincial board members, local government officials, and guests graced the event.
