Newly elected officials of the Bohol Tri-Media Association (BTMA) took their oath of office on Saturday, March 11.

Ric Obedencio has been elected as the BTMA new president, the province’s only media association.

Obedencio is the editor of the Bohol Sunday News and Bohol Balita Daily News. He served as correspondent of The Freeman.

He was elected by the board of directors of BTMA last week.

He said his top goals for his year at the helm of BTMA include emphasizing education about the importance of a free press and protecting journalists in the province.

He added that BTMA is an association place to re-energize and reconnect with others.

Tagbilaran City Mayor Baba Yap administered the oath of office to the new officers of BTMA headed by Obedencio. Also present were Richard Uy, Peter Dejaresco, Jane Yap, Margaux Herrera-Caya and Atty. Jamie Aumentado Villamor.

Also inducted into office are Atty. Dandan Bantugan, Executive Vice President; Atoy Cosap, Vice President for Print; Fred Araneta, Vice President for Broadcast;
Fe Moncada-Malimot, Secretary;
Richelyn Maestrado, Treasurer; and
Cecilio Remolador, Auditor.

Board of Directors: Jun Gutierrez, Rey Tutas, Engr. Tibbs Bullecer, Dodong Libatuna and Bob Galero.

The BTMA officers vowed to perform the task that is expected of them especially in serving the welfare of the association, its members and also the community that it serves.
