A fisherman found a dead dolphin on the shores of Sitio Talisay in Barangay Bil-isan, Panglao town on Wednesday morning, Sept. 23, 2020.
The fisherman, who found the lifeless dolphin at around 5 a. m., reported the incident to the barangay officials.
The barangay officials, fishery technician of local government of Panglao, staff of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Provincial Fisheries Office (BFAR-PFO) and staff from Bohol Environment Management Office (BEMO) examined and took the morphometrics of the dead dolphin.
BEMO said it was a Fraser’s Dolphin found by a fisherman.
BEMO said the dolphin did not undergo necropsy because there ws no available veterinarian that can perform the necropsy.
The cause of this death was undetermined as of this writing.
The dolphin was buried at the nearby beach area after it was examined.
