For the 19th day, the daily detection rate for new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Bohol has flown below the 100 cases-a-day radar, despite the detected presence of the more transmissible delta variant of the virus here.
Since October 4, new cases in Bohol have stated below the 100 mark, at least until October 22.
And for the 11th day too, active cases in Bohol have gone below the 1000 count since October 12.
Even the Covid recoveries in Bohol showed better numbers.
September opened with Covid recoveries at 84%, that is of every 100 Covid cases, some 84 would fully recover.
By October 22, Covid recoveries have surged to 95%, or 95 of every 100 patients can be up and about after their medical ordeal.
Deaths, which numbered 115 in the first 22 days of September, is also 34 less in October’s first 22 days.
This as Bohol is downgraded from Alert level 4 couple of months ago, to Alert Level, from October 20 to October 31, according to the Department of Interior and Local Government issued the guidelines on Alert Levels as of October 13.
Alert Level 2, according to the Department of Health are areas where case transmission is low and decreasing, health care utilization is low, or case counts are low and decreasing but total bed utilization rate and intensive care unit utilization rate is increasing or at least a parameter in hospital bed utilization is still high.
In a graph showing Hospital Care Utilization in Bohol as presented by DOH nurse Neil John Ochoco, last September 13, Intensive Care Unit beds utilization in Bohol was at 91%, which surged dangerously to 98% or the even more critical level last October 4 before crossing to the high risk level at below 80 and then dipping further to 65% utilization by October 18.
From 84% utilization rate for Covid Isolation rooms in September 13, which is still critical, it crossed to 72% by Sept 20 which is high risk, slightly went up to 76% by Sept 27 and then going 52% in ICU utilization by October 18.
Covid ward beds utilization started off at moderate risk Sept 13, went up to high utilization at 74% on Sept 27 and then plotted a downward course to a low utilization rate Oct 4 and then going 50% low utilization last Oct 18.
For mechanical ventilators, utilization tracked showed 69% in Sept 13, raised gradually to peak at a high 72% utilization last October 4 before sagging to low utilization at 53 and 566 on October 11 and 18 monitoring weeks.
Even Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force on the management of Emerging Infectious Disease Spokesperson Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, last week confirmed that they noticed the Covid cases in Bohol continue to drop, but added that they would still need a week more of data to officially confirm the decrease.
