A delegation of Bohol officials, led by Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado and Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Cajes-Yap, recently visited the facilities of MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) in Iloilo City to gain insights into its operations and service delivery.

The group was particularly impressed by MORE Power’s state-of-the-art Control Center, which monitors and manages the entire power distribution system 24/7. They also observed the company’s efficient helpline that provides round-the-clock assistance to consumers.

The officials witnessed the 30 MegaVolt Amperes Mobile substation temporarily operating in the Molo district while the substation undergoes rehabilitation, as well as the newly constructed Megaworld substation in Mandurriao.

The delegation was briefed on MORE Power’s customer service initiatives, including enhanced service delivery, convenient payment options, and streamlined meter connection applications. They also learned about the company’s electricity trading strategies with suppliers, which contribute to maintaining low and affordable power rates for consumers.

As part of their benchmarking exercise, the officials met with Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, who expressed their satisfaction with MORE Power’s services and their positive impact on the progress and development of localities.

The visit comes as Primelectric Holdings, Inc., the parent company of MORE Power, is set to become the new partner of the Bohol Provincial Government in managing and operating Bohol Light Company (BLCI). Primelectric recently acquired a 70% share in BLCI from Salcon Power.

BLCI serves Tagbilaran City, the provincial capital and commercial center of Bohol.

Primelectric plans to take over operations before the year’s end, pledging to invest 1 billion pesos in rehabilitating and modernizing the electric distribution facilities inherited from Salcon Power and implementing similar customer-centric service standards.

This visit underscores the Bohol officials’ commitment to learning best practices from successful power distribution models to improve service delivery and enhance consumer experiences in their localities.
