TAGBILARAN CITY — A 7-year-old girl died after she was reportedly bitten by a snake near her grandmother’s house in Barangay Ubojan, Inabanga, Bohol, on Wednesday evening, Nov. 4.
The incident happened shortly after 6 p.m. while the child was reportedly on her way to buy rice after being sent on an errand.
Initial information indicated that the girl did not immediately tell her mother that she had been bitten by a snake because she was afraid.
When she eventually told her mother about the incident, the child reportedly said she could no longer feel her body.
She was rushed to the Clarin Community Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The snake was reportedly identified as a banakon (cobra).
