TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The Governor Celestino Gallares Multi-Specialty Medical Center (GCGMSMC) formally unveiled its new Advanced Imaging Center on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, bringing cutting-edge diagnostic technologies to Bohol and positioning the hospital among the country’s leading healthcare institutions.

The newly inaugurated facility houses the Philippines’ first and only Photon-Counting CT Scanner, the NAEOTOM Alpha, a next-generation imaging system designed to provide highly detailed and precise diagnostic images. The technology enables healthcare professionals to detect even the smallest abnormalities with greater accuracy, improving disease diagnosis and patient care.

The center also features Bohol’s first Dual-Energy 128-Slice Spectral CT Scanner, further strengthening the province’s diagnostic capabilities and expanding access to advanced medical imaging services.

In addition, GCGMSMC introduced Bohol’s first Helium-Independent 1.5 Tesla MRI, the MAGNETOM Flow Platform, along with an advanced Radiology Information System and Vendor Neutral Archive (RIS-VNA).

These technologies are expected to improve efficiency in imaging procedures, streamline data management, and support faster delivery of healthcare services.

The launch was attended by hospital officials, healthcare professionals, government representatives, and industry partners.

Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado welcomed the development, describing the new facilities as a major enhancement to the province’s healthcare system and a key component of the Strategic Governance Roadmap aimed at improving public health services.

Representing the governor during the inauguration was Nick Besas, who joined stakeholders in celebrating the milestone.

Medical Center Chief Laurence E. R. Tirol led the inauguration ceremony and recognized the contributions of partners and stakeholders who helped bring the world-class technologies to the province.

Tirol said the installation of the advanced imaging systems marks a significant step in making globally recognized diagnostic technologies accessible to patients in Bohol and neighboring areas.

He added that the initiative supports the hospital’s goal of expanding access to advanced healthcare services while improving the quality and efficiency of patient care.

Among those present during the event were Marc James Delos Santos, representatives from siemens-healthineers.com, and officials from medilines.com.ph.

Also attending were Bebiano Inting, representing First District Rep. Baba Yap; JP Maslog, representing Second District Rep. Vanessa Aumentado; Cortes Mayor Rudy Uy; and Pureza Chatto, representing former Rep. Edgar Chatto.

The provincial government of Bohol welcomed the opening of the Advanced Imaging Center, noting that the new technologies will expand access to accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic services for Bol-anons, reducing the need for patients to seek specialized imaging procedures outside the province.
