TAGBILARAN CITY — The provincial government of Bohol is stepping up efforts to attract international investments and expand economic opportunities as Governor Aris Aumentado met with Trade Commissioner Alma Argayoso at the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in New York.

Aumentado said the meeting on Wednesday focused on strengthening trade and investment relations between Bohol and potential global partners, while exploring ways to encourage more investors to consider the province as a business destination.

Discussions highlighted opportunities to promote Bohol in the international market, particularly its locally produced goods, tourism sector, agriculture industry, and emerging industries with strong potential for global competitiveness.

The governor underscored Bohol’s readiness to welcome investments, citing its improving infrastructure, skilled workforce, and clear development agenda aimed at sustaining economic growth.

According to Aumentado, attracting more businesses remains a key priority of the provincial government as it seeks to generate employment, stimulate local industries, and increase income opportunities for Boholanos.

He noted that building stronger relationships with trade and investment institutions abroad forms part of the province’s broader strategy to position Bohol as a competitive player in the global economy while opening new markets for local products and services.

Joining the governor during the meeting were Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte and Second District Representative Vanessa “Van-van” Aumentado, who likewise expressed support for initiatives that promote economic development and investment growth in the province.

The engagement is part of the provincial government of Bohol’s continuing efforts to forge international partnerships and attract investments that support sustainable growth and long-term development under its Strategic Change Agenda.

Officials said strengthening global trade and investment linkages is expected to create new opportunities for local businesses, expand market access for Bohol-made products, and further enhance the province’s competitiveness in the international arena.
