SAN MIGUEL, Bohol — The local government of San Miguel is moving forward with plans to establish the Colegio Municipal de San Miguel, marking a significant step in the town’s push for progress and expanded access to education.
Mayor Ian Gil Garcia Mendez shared that the initiative is part of a long-term vision gradually being realized for the municipality.
“From a dream, we are slowly making it a reality,” the mayor said, underscoring the administration’s commitment to development under the banner “Padayun Pag-uswag San Miguel” (Continuous Progress for San Miguel).
The proposed municipal college aims to provide affordable and accessible higher education opportunities for local students, particularly those who may not have the means to study outside the town.
Local officials expressed optimism that the project will not only uplift the education sector but also contribute to the town’s socio-economic growth by producing skilled graduates who can serve the community.
Further details on the timeline, funding, and course offerings of the Colegio Municipal de San Miguel are expected to be announced once plans are finalized.
