SIKATUNA, Bohol — The provincial government of Bohol has officially turned over the newly completed Sikatuna–Sevilla via Cambuac Sur Road, a P39.989-million infrastructure project aimed at improving mobility and disaster resilience in the area.

Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado led the inauguration on Wednesday, March 18, joined by local officials from Sevilla and Barangay Lagtangan, along with representatives from the Provincial Engineering Office.

The completed portion of the road stretches 1.6 kilometers with a width of 6.10 meters and forms part of the Tagbilaran-Corella-Sikatuna-Loboc (TCSL) road network. The entire Sikatuna–Sevilla via Cambuac Sur route spans 9.5 kilometers and is funded under the province’s road management program.

Officials said the newly paved road will serve as an important alternative route, particularly during natural disasters such as flooding, earthquakes, and typhoons, when primary roads may become impassable.

“It is encouraging that we now have an alternative route in times of emergency,” Aumentado said, emphasizing the project’s role in ensuring safer and more efficient travel.

Provincial Administrator Aster Caberte noted that the concreted road will ease transportation for residents and motorists, reducing travel time and providing a dependable route during adverse conditions.

The governor also disclosed plans to seek an additional P50 million to fund the completion of the remaining 1.3-kilometer unpaved section of the road.

In addition, the provincial government is preparing proposals for several road projects across Bohol to further strengthen inter-town connectivity and support economic growth.

Aumentado urged Boholanos to remain united and steadfast, underscoring that progress is achieved through collective effort and faith.
