TAGBILARAN CITY — Authorities have launched a retrieval operation in the waters off Baclayon town for a fisherman who has been missing since the evening of March 17.
The missing individual was identified as Orcesio Pancito, a resident of Barangay Laya.
According to initial reports, only his pump boat was found drifting at sea, prompting immediate search efforts by authorities.
Personnel from the Tarsier Rescue Unit and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted joint operations in the area. However, as of this writing, responders have reported a “negative visual,” indicating that the missing fisherman has yet to be located.
The Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Baclayon has ordered the continuation of retrieval operations on the morning of March 19 in hopes of finding Pancito.
In a Facebook post, Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado confirmed that retrieval efforts were carried out in Baclayon, with both the Tarsier Rescue Unit and the PCG working together in the search. Despite their coordinated efforts, no trace of the missing fisherman has been found so far.
Authorities remain hopeful as search operations continue.
