CEBU CITY— OceanJet will impose a temporary fuel surcharge on several of its routes beginning March 16, 2026, as fuel prices continue to rise.
In an advisory, the company said the adjustment is part of its fuel contingency measures to cope with the continuing daily increase in fuel costs.
OceanJet acknowledged that the adjustment may inconvenience passengers and apologized for the fare increase.
“We understand that this increase is not ideal for our passengers and we would like to deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change,” the company said.
The firm emphasized that the surcharge is temporary and will be lifted once fuel prices return to normal levels.
Under the advisory, the following routes will have updated fares starting March 16:
Cebu – Ormoc (vice versa)
Tourist/Open Air Accommodation: P1,320
Business Class: P1,900
Cebu – Maasin (vice versa)
Tourist/Open Air Accommodation: P1,320
Business Class: P1,900
Maasin – Surigao (vice versa)
Tourist/Open Air Accommodation: P960
Business Class: P1,440
Cebu – Getafe (vice versa)
Tourist/Open Air Accommodation: P540
Business Class: P960
OceanJet said routes not listed in the advisory will remain without fare increases for now, although adjustments may still be made depending on future fuel price movements and operational requirements.
The company said passengers will be notified should further changes be implemented.
