TAGBILARAN CITY — Hernes Bajao has assumed office as mayor of Duero following a transition in leadership in the municipality.
The local government unit of Duero welcomed Bajao as the newly assumed municipal mayor in a statement Thursday.
Bajao was urged to lead the municipality with wisdom, humility and commitment to public service, while listening to the concerns and needs of residents.
The LGU also called on municipal employees and residents to remain united and focused on the continued delivery of government services and the municipality’s development.
New chapter
“The change in leadership is a new chapter, but our responsibility to serve the people continues,” the LGU said.
“Padayon ang serbisyo. Padayon ang pagtinabangay. Padayon ang Duero,” it added.
Bajao’s assumption follows the departure of former Mayor Al Cadorniga Taculad, who voluntarily stepped down on Wednesday after the Office of the Ombudsman ordered his dismissal for grave misconduct.
