TAGBILARAN CITY—Passengers traveling to and from Bohol will face higher ferry fares starting March 23, 2026, as OceanJet implements a temporary fuel surcharge adjustment on several routes due to rising fuel costs.
In an advisory, the shipping company said the move expands on an earlier announcement issued on March 15, citing the continuing daily increase in fuel prices.
The surcharge forms part of its fuel contingency measures to sustain operations.
Among the affected routes is the busy Cebu–Tagbilaran route, where fares are now set at P960 for tourist or open-air accommodation and P1,400 for business class. The same rates will apply to the Tagbilaran–Siquijor route.
For the Tagbilaran–Dumaguete route, passengers will pay P1,080 for tourist class and P1,680 for business class.
Other routes covered by the adjustment include Dumaguete–Siquijor, with fares at P420 for tourist class and P700 for business class, and Iloilo–Bacolod, priced at P650 and P900, respectively.
OceanJet said the fare increase is temporary and will be lifted once fuel prices stabilize.
The company apologized for the inconvenience but assured passengers of its continued commitment to provide safe, reliable, and efficient sea travel while managing operational challenges brought about by fluctuating fuel costs.
Passengers are advised to monitor updates through OceanJet’s official communication channels, including its Facebook page, ticketing offices, authorized agents, and customer service hotlines.
