Some schools in Bohol have suspended classes on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in observance of the 40th anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution.
The class suspensions were announced even as February 25 was declared only a special working holiday by the national government.
Also known as the Edsa Revolution or the February Revolution, the 1986 uprising was marked by a series of massive demonstrations held from February 22 to 25, primarily along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue in Metro Manila.
The movement became a sustained campaign of civil resistance by Filipinos against regime violence and alleged electoral fraud, ultimately leading to a historic political transition.
