A 4-month-old child died after being trapped in a house fire on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 24.
Just after 2:30 p.m., the city fire responded to a house fire near Gondong St., Purok 2, Ubujan District, Tagbilaran City.
Responding firefighters reported heavy smoke and were alerted to someone trapped, leading to an immediate search.
Mayor Jane Yap identified the victim as
Prince Nikola Alcala.
“On-going ang investigation karon, ug siguraduhon nato palihog nga naay mag check sa mga kuryente sa balay ug dile biyaan ang mga butang nga gi charge. Init pod kaayo atong panahon ron, amping ta,” said Yap in a Facebook post.
Crews brought the fire under control and is taking over the investigation.
