TAGBILARAN CITY — A tricycle driver was killed after his vehicle was hit by a speeding panel truck in Barangay Guinacot, Guindulman town, past 7 a.m. on Sunday, February 22.
Initial investigation showed that the panel truck was traveling fast while following the tricycle. Upon reaching a bridge in the barangay, the truck collided with the smaller vehicle, causing the motorcycle attached to the tricycle to plunge below the bridge.
The victim was identified as Francis Bersaluna, 60, who was declared dead on the spot due to severe injuries.
The driver of the panel truck is now in the custody of the Guindulman Municipal Police Station for proper investigation and documentation.
Police authorities are continuing their probe to determine the exact cause of the accident and to establish accountability.
