Jagna proved too much to handle for Dauis as it roared to a 83-58 win, in the process advancing to the finals in the Juniors division of the PGBh D-League Governor’s Cup 2023.

Unfazed by a controversial heartbreaking loss last week, Jagna showed no mercy in its blow-out triumph over Dauis.

With their patented shooting, speed, and superior hustle on display Sunday night at the Talibon Gym, the Jagna dribblers showed they deserved a crack at the title.

The team from District 3 showed a variety of moves that Dauis was not able to counter, including back-breaking layups, momentum-shifting threes, and unmatched effort while taking control of the boards.

Jagna punished a somewhat lethargic Dauis squad coming into the do-or-die matchup, exploiting the latter’s lack of aggressiveness and edge right from the start with a game-long intensity.

The boys from kalamay country  also exploited their deep bench with a balanced attack from different players.

Dauis meanwhile stuck to their starters and had no answer when fatigue caught up with them as the game wore on.

Renie Salarda spearheaded Jagna’s attack with 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

Martin Jamora provided able support with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.

Jagna’s victory allowed it to advance to the Grand Finals of the Governor’s Cup where it will face Tagbilaran City in the much-awaited matchup for the crown.

Dauis drew 17 points and six rebounds from Nyko Pon to settle for the right to grab third place against Tubigon. (PIMO/MAV)
