PANGLAO, Bohol — Two young motorcycle riders were killed while another was critically injured after three motorcycles collided along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, Panglao, Bohol at around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, January 23.
Police identified the fatalities as Kyle Omar Bongcac, 17, single, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Poblacion, Panglao, and Jake Araña, 18, single, from Purok 6, Barangay Danao, Panglao.
The injured rider was identified as Ahron Jay Guibone, 19, of Purok 1, Barangay Danao, Panglao, who remains in critical condition.
Initial police investigation revealed that Bongcac was riding a Honda XRM motorcycle without a license plate, traveling from Barangay Poblacion toward Barangay Danao, when he collided with a black Honda Click motorcycle with a temporary plate driven by Araña, and another black Honda Click motorcycle driven by Guibone. The latter two were reportedly traveling in the opposite direction when the accident occurred.
All three victims were rushed to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran City.
However, Bongcac and Araña were declared dead at around 12:48 a.m. the same day, according to the Panglao Municipal Police Station. Guibone remains under medical observation.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident
