MANILA — Tropical Storm Dante (international name: Francisco) has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of Thursday morning, July 24, according to PAGASA’s 5 p.m. bulletin.
As of 10 a.m., Dante was located 805 km northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, moving northward at 15 km/h, with maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h and gusts up to 90 km/h.
While no tropical cyclone wind signals remain in effect, Dante continues to enhance the Southwest Monsoon, bringing strong to gale-force winds and heavy rainfall over several regions including Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Visayas, and parts of Mindanao through Saturday.
A gale warning is in effect over the seaboards of Northern, Central, and Southern Luzon, with waves reaching up to 14 meters. Sea travel remains risky, especially for small vessels.
Dante is expected to weaken as it moves westward over the East China Sea and may become a remnant low by Saturday, July 26.
PAGASA has issued its final bulletin on Dante but advises the public to continue monitoring updates on the monsoon rains and localized severe weather.
