In a welcome move for consumers, Primelectric Holdings Inc. (PHI) and its subsidiaries — MORE Power, Negros Power, and Bohol Light — have announced significant electricity rate cuts for June 2025, delivering much-needed financial relief to households across their franchise areas.

The three private distribution utilities reaffirmed their commitment to providing affordable, reliable, and efficient power services to the communities they serve.

Bohol Light Trims Rates by 75 Centavos per kWh
For residential consumers in Tagbilaran City, Bohol Light will lower its average rate from ₱11.07/kWh to ₱10.32/kWh this month. A household using 200 kWh per month stands to save ₱150, providing extra budget room for essentials like groceries and school supplies.

MORE Power Slashes Iloilo City Rates by 61 Centavos
Iloilo City consumers under MORE Power will see a ₱0.61/kWh drop in rates — from ₱11.12/kWh in May to ₱10.52/kWh in June. This adjustment means a ₱122 saving for a typical 200 kWh household, offering timely support for families managing school-related expenses.

Negros Power Rates Reduced by 55 Centavos
In Central Negros, Negros Power will reduce its residential rates by ₱0.55/kWh, bringing the rate down to ₱11.14/kWh from ₱11.69/kWh. Households consuming 200 kWh will benefit from ₱110 in savings on their June bill.

The rate decreases are largely attributed to strategic energy sourcing through the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) and reduced transmission charges, particularly from lower Ancillary Services and Reserve Market rates.

Notably, these utilities continue to maintain the lowest electricity rates in their respective areas.

Unified Commitment to Affordable, Reliable Service

“These rate reductions reflect Primelectric Holdings’ proactive management of power supply, optimized market participation, and our commitment to pass on savings to consumers,” said Roel Z. Castro, President and CEO of Primelectric Holdings Inc.

Castro emphasized the company’s ongoing investments in infrastructure upgrades, system loss reduction initiatives, and strategic market participation to sustain affordable rates and improve service quality.

“At the end of the day, it’s about making life a little easier for our consumers. Every peso saved on electricity is a peso that can go toward food, education, and other family needs — and we’re proud to be a responsible partner in that effort,” Castro added.

Primelectric Holdings Inc. is a leading private utility holding company dedicated to modernizing electric distribution systems and ensuring affordable, reliable, and sustainable power for communities.
