TBTK holds family welcome night

A family welcome night for Tigum Bol-anon sa Tibuok Kalibutan (TBTK) participants was held at Bohol Tropics Resort, Tagbilaran City on Tuesday, July 23.

It was hosted by Tagbilaran City Government led by Mayor Jane Yap.

“Tonight, we celebrate being Boholanos, united by this special place where we come together, share stories, and strengthen the bond that makes us one big family. Let us show the world the pride we have through our heritage, the passion we have for our culture, and the love we have for our beloved Bohol,” said Yap.

City Administrator Cathy Torremocha said that the “event is more than just a gathering, it’s a homecoming.”

“Seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones reminds us of the warmth and spirit that define us as Bol-anon. This is the chance to rekindle all friendships, forge new connections, and strengthen the ties that wind us to our beloved hometown,” Torremocha added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Disi Yap Alba reported the successful holding of the TBTK’s Eye Surgical Mission held on July 14 to 20 at Galagar Hospital in Jagna town. At least 1, 000 patients with cataracts benifited from the mission which was part of the TBTK line up of activities. The surgical operations were led by Dr. Federico Malubay.

Confederation of Boholanos in the USA and Canada (Conbusac) chairman Dr. Rhine Pamaong thanked everyone present who made it to the TBTK activities further emphasizing that their support in raising funds for the TBTK projects that benefit the less privileged Boholanos through their chosen program.

A performance from the Loboc Youth Ambassador Band added merriment to the evening.

TBTK founder Nick Lopez and Margaux Herrera, TBTK special projects committee head joined other distinguished guests during the occasion.

Miss Bohol 1st runner-up Flaviona Joaquin also graced the welcome dinner along with TBTK Youth Ambassadors, the Bohol Association of Metro Manila, Tapok-tapok Bol-anon of Manila, Sandugo Family of New Jersey, California, Maribojocanon of Metro Manila, and other associations worldwide. (PIMO/RJG)
