TAGBILARAN CITY- Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino on Thursday visited the wake of Bohol Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite.
Balite will be laid to rest tomorrow at the Victoria Memorial Park in Tagbilaran City, his family said.
His remains were placed in the Capitol at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall today before being taken to BIT-International College for the final night.
Tolentino extended his condolences and gave moral support to the bereaved family during his visit. Tolentino stayed for an hour before returning to Manila.
“Kaibigan natin si Vice (Balite) eh. Mabait na tao so talagang pupunta ako talaga dito isang araw pa nakaschedule kasi may bagyo sa Manila. Ipinaabot natin ang pakikiramay,” Tolentino told reporters
Balite’s father, former Vice Gov. Dionisio “Dioning” Balite is a founding member of PDP-Laban, the party of Tolentino.
Tolentino has been in public service since 1986, holding positions in the legislative and executive branches of the government.
He was elected to the Philippine Senate in the 2019 elections. He is currently serving as a Senator of the Republic of the Philippines until 2025.
