The provincial government of Bohol warmly welcomed Sheila Enciso, the newly appointed Regional Director of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Region 7.

Enciso on Tuesday met acting governor Tita Baja and provincial administrator Asteria Caberte at the Office of the Governor on July 23.

Accompanying Enciso were Ronald Pumatong, provincial Agrarian Reform Officer (Paro); lawyee Allan Amazona, provincial Agrarian Reform adjudicator (Parad); Jeanett Oporto, chief Agrarian Reform program officer (Carpo), along with other DAR staff.

During the meeting, they discussed DAR’s initiatives such as the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (Split) and interventions for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs).

Caberte highlighted the success stories of ARBs who have formed associations with support from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and DAR, some of which have grown into substantial enterprises like the Tubigon Loomweavers MPC, which was recognized during the 170th Bohol Day Celebration.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., in his recent 3rd State of the Nation Address (Sona), reported that 138,056 ARBs have received land titles through the government’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program. The President emphasized his commitment to completing the program during his administration. The initiative was launched in 1972 under the administration of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., the current President’s father.

Enciso, formerly the Regional Director of Region 6, assumed the role from Leomedes Villareal as Regional Director of Region 7. (PIMO/ALT/NDF)
