Bohol strives for sustainable support to farmers and entrepreneurs as it rolls out “KADIWA ng Pangulo” across the province.
The flagship initiative of the national government made its first stop in Corella on April 18.
Some 47 exhibitors displayed local, agricultural and ready-to-eat products as well as One Town One Product (OTOP) goods held until April 21, between 8 am to 6 pm at the municipal plaza.
Corella municipal officials led by Mayor Juan Manuel Lim and Vice Mayor Danny Bandala along with Jerome Gonzales, provincial director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Jerome Gabin of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Elisa Mojica, provincial manager, National Food Authority, Jude Bernard Guieb of the Bohol Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office of the provincial government and Board Member Aldner Damalerio representing Cong. Edgar Chatto led the opening program.
DILG’s Gonzales emphasized the purpose of KADIWA to support local farmers and micro small medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing avenues for them to sell directly to consumers.
He congratulated LGU Corella led by Lim for being the first to take on the challenge of being the first municipality in Bohol to implement the program.

It can be recalled that KADIWA was launched in the province last March 15 at the Old Tagbilaran Airport.
The initial three-day run generated P1.1 million in sales from 108 exhibitors and attracted 13, 598 buyers.
Following the success of the launch, Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado had enjoined local government units to hold the succeeding KADIWA events.
The governor underscored the need to stabilize food prices and ensure food sufficiency through the program, aligned with his administration’s strategic governance roadmap.
KADIWA the acronym for Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita, is a market linkage facilitation program that supports local producers to earn higher income and allows consumers to buy goods at a lower price.
The collaborative program, jointly implemented by the Department of Agriculture, DILG, DTI and the Department of Labor and Employment, is strongly supported by the provincial and local governments. (PIMO/LMS)
