Domingo Compoc alias “Kumander Cobra” or “Ka Silong” was laid to rest Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Hanopol Public Cemetery in Barangay Hanopol in Balilihan town, Bohol.

Before the burial, a mass was offered at the Sto. Nino Parish for Compoc, a high ranking NPA official. He was killed together with other four rebels in a gun battle with government troops last Feb. 23 in Barangay Campagao in Bilar town.

Compoc’s estranged wife, Hermocila Villamor and relatives from Bilar and Batuan attended the burial.

Hundreds of sympathizers also joined the funeral march for Compoc.

Earlier, Villamor said she did not allow her husband to be autopsied as “to allow him to rest in peace.”

She didn’t allow any group to conduct “pagpupugay” or honoring the dead comrades as they used to. With a report from Helen Castano
