TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL — Anti-narcotics operatives confiscated over P6.9 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of a high-value target in Barangay Dampas, this city.

Authorities identified the suspect as Paul Lester Cabalit Abellana, 44, a resident of Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City.

Abellana was caught with large sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 1.025 kilograms during the operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bohol and Tagbilaran City Police.

The operation was launched around 11 p.m. following intelligence gathered through a target intelligence packet (TIP), which confirmed Abellana’s involvement in illegal drug activities.

BPPO Provincial Director Col. Arnel Banzon lauded the operatives for successfully intercepting the distribution of a significant quantity of illegal drugs. He emphasized that the operation likely prevented the proliferation of shabu in various towns across the province.

“This operation saved countless lives by keeping these illegal drugs off the streets. We remain steadfast in our campaign against drug syndicates,” Banzon said.

Abellana will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
