Rep. Tutor on Guindulman ‘credit grabbing’ incident: ‘Learn to respect boundaries’

Bohol 3rd district Rep. Alexie Besas-Tutor has slammed the people behind the “credit grabbing” incident for “politicizing” the turnover of a national government-funded multipurpose covered court in Guindulman town over the weekend.

In a statement on Tuesday (Oct. 26), Tutor said it was lack of “delicadeza” for allegedly holding the event without her and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) despite her efforts to allocate P5 million for the project through the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

“The embarrassing incident that occurred in Sawang, Guindulman was an eye opener to all public officials and the constituents. That our people are looking into our performance. That people are changing their mindset. We cannot fool them. They raise their voices and express their sentiments,” Tutor said.

She said she was overwhelmed by the outpouring support on social media from supporters and the constituency in general when the incident went viral online.

Netizens were angry that a tarpaulin with the faces of two provincial officials were present during the turn over of a covered court in Poblacion Sawang in the said town. But it had no tarpaulin with Tutor and the DPWH on it.

“I do not need to elaborate further about the project because the output & the outburst of the masses speak more than words can say.

Let us do our job, duty and obligation to the people. We leaders must always be humble to accept our mistakes and lapses and learned from it. One mistake cannot be corrected by another mistake. Learn to respect boundaries,” she said.
