The Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) has cleared from any wrongdoing Panglao Mayor Leonila Montero and company who allegedly broke Covid-19 health protocols.
This was announced by Bohol Governor Arthur Yap on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
On a Facebook post, Yap said he received the 8-page investigation report regarding Montero’s trip to Cebu and back to Bohol last September.
Col. Joselito L. Clarito, director of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO), is the head of the Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF) Security Cluster who was tasked to investigate the case.
Yap said Clarito recommended that ‘the case against Mayor Montero and company be dropped and closed.'”
Yap said Clarito recommended that “all the members of the Bohol IATF, ‘convene and to harmonize the variations on the issuances from the Local and National IATF.’”
BIATF members will be given copies of Clarito’s investigation report in a meeting at 1 p. m. on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Provincial Capitol.
“This is to allow Colonel Clarito, to present his investigation findings to the body, and to point out to the BIATF, what legal issuances need to be harmonized, if any,” Yap said.
Montero and company allegedly visited Cebu last September and came back home to Bohol without observing the proper health and medical protocols.
