A retired policeman was shot to death on Friday along the road of Barangay Poblacion in Panglao town.

Corporal Chito Jerome Galua, investigator at Panglao Police Station, said Ramon Arboleras Bolongaita, a retired member of the Philippine National Police and resident of Panglao town, was riding his bicycle for his daily morning exercise when gunmen on motorcycle stopped him and shot him afterward.

The incident happened at 6:20 a. m. in Sitio Valenzuela in Barangay Poblacion in Panglao.

Bolongaita suffered wounds in his head, resulting in his immediate death.

The gunmen fled towards the direction of Barangay Looc.

Police recovered three fired shells of cal. 9 mm pistol at the crime scene.
