Bohol 3rd district Rep. Alexie Besas-Tutor on Thursday said she received the first Covid-19 vaccine dose.
Tutor said she got vaccinated against the respiratory disease to protect herself, her family and the people she is interacting with as a public official.
“It’s about time.. Our turn for the 1st dose. Supposedly, I am due for my 1st jab last week at Congress. I immediately requested to take the jab at RHU-Candijay since it is the same vaccine that will be given. Flying to Manila will only increase my exposure to the high cases in the NCR. I cannot risk my 5 y/o & 7 y/o children to my exposure at Manila when i come back home, ” Tutor explained in a Facebook post.
Tutor is a licensed physical therapist.
” We have to ensure ourselves, our safety & that of others. Almost everyday, I tour around the district doing my duties,” she said.
The vaccine was administered by Dr. Pristine Veloso Sumera, Candijay Municipal Health Officer and Bernadette Villafuerte.
Tutor’s husband Candijay Mayor Christopher Tutor, also received his first dose of the vaccine.
Tutor has been vaccinated publicly to reassure Boholanos that the shots are safe.
“To all who haven’t got their jab, take your turn. Dili ta mahadlok. Sa mga naka 1st dose na, pls take your 2nd dose kay ug dili, balik mo uno. Ilabi na sa atong mga Brgy Officials both elected & appointed, pagpa bakuna na intawn mo kay kamo ra bay mang bantay sa mga isolation centers. Ug daghan ta magpabakuna, mas dali nato ma abot ang herd immunity. Amping ta sa kanunay,” she said.
