The municipal government of Ubay on Saturday announced it is once again placing four villages under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) following the recent surge in Covid-19 cases.

In a Facebook post, the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force (MIATF) said the villages placed under MECQ include Barangays Poblacion, Fatima, Bood and Tapon.

The MECQ is set to start today, February 13, 2021. The Facebook announcement, however, did not specify when the MECQ will end.

MIATF-Ubay said that “all those who have transaction in these areas will be required to present a home quarantine pass (HQP) or work pass/company ID to be able to pass through the control points and checkpoints.”

The municipal government of Ubay also set its curfew hours anew from 8:30 p. m to 5:00 a.m.

As of Feb. 12, the town has recorded 27 active cases of Covid-19.
