The municipal government of Ubay has its curfew hours anew, now setting it at just 7 hours and 30 minutes from 8:30 p. m to 5:00 a.m.
Updates posted on LGU Ubay’s Facebook page on Friday, however, clarified that health protocols would remain in place and that some individuals may be excused from the curfew.
Among the individuals who can move around the town even during the curfew hours are those whose work is connected with frontline services and emergency response.
“Due to the surge of COVID-19 in the Municipality of Ubay which is now 27 ACTIVE CASES, the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force (MIATF) would like to inform the general public that by virtue of an executive order signed by the honorable Mayor Constantino Reyes, a municipal-wide curfew will be imposed which will start at 8:30PM to 5:00AM. Except those whose work is connected with frontline services and emergency response, all residents are to stay inside their homes during the curfew hours,” the LGU Ubay said in its post.
Curfew hours in Ubay town were first modified last year as the movement of people was gradually allowed in order to reverse the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
As of Feb. 12, the town has 27 active cases of Covid-19.
