As schools in the country started online classes on Monday morning, a student from Sagbayan town despaired. He had no laptop for his online class.
At 10 a. m. on Tuesday, October 6, he was found lifeless inside the house by his father.
The victim, a resident of Sagbayan town, committed suicide by hanging.
In an investigation by the Sagbayan police, it was found out that the victim went home on Monday (Oct. 5) after attending an online class. He was found dead the following day.
The victim, 21, was a third year college student taking up Bachelor of Technical Livelihood Education in a school in Clarin town.
Police said investigation revealed that there were no indications of foul play behind the student’s death.
It was discovered that the victim’s simcard and school ID were cut.
Before the incident, the victim was worrying a lot because his teacher refused to accept his late project, a cousin (who asked for anonimity) recalled.
The victim also asked his parents to buy laptop to be used for his online class. However, his parents told him they needed time to look for money.
