The province’s latest Covid-19 patient is a two-year-old girl from Inabanga town, the first case of local transmission.

Inabanga Mayor Josephine “Roygie” Jumamoy, on her official statement, said that the girl, a resident of Barangay Maria Rosario, was admitted to Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital (FDMH) due to Covid-19 symptoms.

Jumamoy said before the results of her swab sample was released, the child was discharged and sent home by the hospital on Thursday afternoon (October 8).

Jumamoy said she was informed by the Department of Health – Central Visayas on Thursday night (October 8) that the child was tested positive for Covid-19 thru reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.

The child and her family were immediately brought to the barangay isolation facility, while contact tracing was immediately conducted.
