A barangay official died after he was shot inside the residence of Alburquerque Mayor Don Ritchie Buates on Thursday evening, January 09, 2020.
The daring attack, according to Police Staff Sgt. Ronald Benoy, desk officer of Alburquerque PNP, was staged by a motorcycle-in-tandem assailants at past 7 p.m.
Benoy said based on the accounts of witnesses, Barangay East Poblacion councilor Wilfrido Plaza was visiting the local chief executive when the two assailants arrived.
The backrider took out his caliber .45 gun and fired shots at Plaza.
Mayor Buates was the one who alerted the police and called for help.
Plaza was brought to Ace Medical Center – Bohol in Tagbilaran City.
He later succumbed to five multiple gunshot wounds on his chest, stomach, right foot, and lower back.
Benoy said they are yet to establish the motive of the killing of the barangay official.
