The Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) is looking at involvement in politics and other business transactions as two of the motives in the killing of a village councilman on Thursday evening in Alburquerque town.
According to Police Col. Jonathan Cabal, the director of BPPO, Wilfrido Plaza also offers real estate titling services apart from his work in the barangay.
In their initial investigation and interview with the family, Cabal indicated that he did not received any death threats.
They are also not aware that he has an enemy in his work as a barangay councilor.
Cabal said they believed the gunmen tracked Plaza and waited for an opportunity to attack.
Plaza was killed at the residence of Alburquerque Mayor Don Ritchie Buates at past 7 p.m.
He late succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and died in a private hospital in Tagbilaran City.
