The victims of the recent Mindanao earthquakes have not totally bounced back on their feet yet, and another strong tremor jolted the region tonight, November 18, 2019.

A magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit Bukidnon on Monday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at 9:22 p.m., with the epicenter located six kilometers northwest of Kadingilan in Bukidnon.

The quake which was of tectonic origin had a depth of 10 kilometers.

Intensity V was recorded in Kidapawan City while Intensity IV was recorded in Davao City and Cotabato City.

Aftershocks were felt by residents.

In Don Carlos, patients at Simbulan Hospital were evacuated and transferred after the quake felt.

In Quezon, all classes are suspended tomorrow, Nov. 19, to allow inspectors to assess building safety.

The local government of Quezon requested all school administrators and principals to check school buildings for cracks and damage.

“Do not allow anyone to enter any building if serious damage is noticed,” it advised.

It also urged the public to check their households for serious damages and to report these immediately to the MDRRMO hotline at 09178440397.
