A man died after he was struck by a lightning in open sea in Valencia town on Sunday morning.
Police Master Sergeant Jay Ydulzura of Valencia Police Station, said Alvin Salise, 27, a resident of Barangay Magsaysay in Valencia went fishing when lightning struck and fatally hit him.
The incident happened in the coastal Barangay Cutcutan around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, November 17.
Ydulzura added that Salise died on the spot.
The untimely demise of the victim was witnessed by a certain Gary Maglupay, who was also fishing at least 30 meters away from Salise.
“Naigo ang iyang ulo unya nabuslot,” said Ydulzura.
It was reportedly raining when the incident happened.
