TAGBILARAN CITY — Construction work on two flood control projects in the towns of Antequera and Cortes, Bohol has been put on hold after the bank accounts of the project contractor were frozen amid an ongoing government probe into alleged anomalous flood control projects.
Bohol First District Representative Baba Yap disclosed the development through his official Facebook page, saying the suspension resulted from the freeze order on the contractor’s accounts while investigations into questioned flood control projects nationwide continue.
According to Yap, the flood control project in Cortes carries a budget of P95.995 million, while a separate project of the same amount was earmarked for Antequera.
He explained that both projects were awarded to Silverwolves Construction Corporation in April 2025, prior to his assumption of office as representative of the province’s First District.
The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has named Silverwolves among the contractors whose bank accounts were frozen in connection with the ongoing investigation.
Yap underscored that the suspension is beyond the control of the district office, attributing it to legal and financial constraints imposed on the contractor during the probe.
He added that his office is assessing possible alternatives to ensure the projects can proceed once the issues are resolved.
