TAGBILARAN CITY — A 30-year-old man who was released from detention in August after entering into a plea bargain in a drug case was arrested anew after allegedly selling shabu in a buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City on Wednesday evening, Oct. 28.

PDEA-7 Regional Director Joel B. Plaza identified the suspect as alias Bon, an unemployed resident of Purok 8, Barangay Cogon.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bohol Provincial Office, Tagbilaran City Police Station and Bohol Maritime Police arrested Bon at around 6:50 p.m. and seized 10 packs of suspected shabu weighing 577.07 grams.

The confiscated drugs had an estimated market value of P3,924,076, according to the PDEA.

Authorities also recovered buy-bust money, a cellular phone and other non-drug evidence during the operation.

Records showed that Bon was arrested in June 2026 for alleged violations involving the sale and possession of dangerous drugs. He later entered into a plea bargain and was released in August after serving his sentence.

The seized drug evidence was submitted to the PNP Bohol Forensic Unit for examination and proper disposition. Bon remains under the custody of the Tagbilaran City Police Station.

He is expected to face charges for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, covering the sale and possession of dangerous drugs.

The offenses carry severe penalties, including life imprisonment and fines of up to P10 million, subject to the applicable legal provisions.
