TAGBILARAN CITY — Four people, including three sisters, were brought to a hospital after experiencing dizziness and vomiting following a meal of wild mushrooms and edible ferns in Loboc, Bohol.
The victims said they gathered the ferns, locally known as libgos, and mushrooms around their house.
They noticed that some of the mushrooms had been bitten or partially eaten but ignored this and continued collecting them.
They later cooked the gathered ferns and mushrooms by sautéing some and preparing the others in soup.
However, shortly after eating, they suddenly experienced dizziness and vomiting, prompting them to seek medical assistance and be brought to a hospital.
The victims said they were accustomed to eating libgos and mushrooms, but this was the first time they had experienced such symptoms after a meal.
All four victims are now reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have yet to determine what caused the illness.
