DIMIAO, Bohol — A man nearly lost his arm after he was hacked by his younger brother following an argument between the siblings in Barangay Oac, Dimiao, Bohol, at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The victim, identified only as Virgilio, was reportedly a former inmate who had served time in connection with a double murder case. The suspect was identified as his younger brother, Jason.
Based on initial information, the siblings had come from working in their farm and later drank alcohol together. An argument reportedly broke out after Virgilio allegedly became unruly, leading to a confrontation between the two.
Police said Virgilio allegedly grabbed a bolo during the altercation. Jason then reportedly picked up a lagaraw and hacked his older brother on the arm.
The victim reportedly pleaded with his younger brother not to attack him further after sustaining the injury.
The force of the blow nearly severed Virgilio’s arm. He was immediately brought to a hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, Jason voluntarily surrendered to the police. Authorities are investigating the incident and determining the appropriate charges.
