ANTEQUERA, Bohol- One person was killed while five others were injured in a road accident in Antequera town, Bohol, on Saturday morning, August 9.
Antequera police said the accident happened around 10 a.m. when a bongo truck carrying five passengers was heading to Balilihan to deliver bermuda grass.
The driver, identified as Rosario Tongco Jr, reportedly lost control of the brakes, causing the vehicle to crash at the Dorol Bridge, which links the towns of Antequera and Balilihan.
According to witnesses, one passenger was thrown from the vehicle upon impact and sustained severe injuries.
Responders rushed all the victims to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran City, where Tiburcio Mahinay, was declared dead on arrival. The other passengers remain confined for treatment.
