TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Authorities issued a public health advisory Wednesday night after elevated levels of fine particulate matter were detected in Tagbilaran City.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) Command Center rooftop monitor recorded a PM2.5 reading of 81.7 at 9:45 p.m., placing air pollution levels in the city’s high-risk tier based on its Air Quality Guideline Values.
Residents were advised to limit outdoor activities and postpone unnecessary trips while air quality remains elevated.
People with existing heart and respiratory conditions were strongly urged to stay indoors to minimize exposure to polluted air.
Authorities also said localized measures may be implemented to reduce further emissions, including possible restrictions on motor vehicle use and temporary curtailment of certain industrial activities until air quality conditions improve.
Residents were encouraged to closely monitor official air quality updates through the CDRRMO’s designated QR code for live monitoring and to follow safety advisories issued by authorities.
The CDRRMO reminded the public that precautionary measures are necessary to protect the health and safety of the community as elevated pollution levels persist.
